Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity with Academy Award-winning director Asghar Farhadi. Both a writer and a director, Farhadi explores through his work the complexity of human relationships and Iran’s political landscape. Psychology and realism are two words that come to mind when looking at the director’s filmography, which presents the Iranian society with a mix of pride, criticism and hope.
In 2012 Farhadi received Iran’s first Academy Awards for his critically acclaimed >A Separation<. This award is only one of many that the director has won for the films he has directed since Dancing in the Dust< (2003). Among other the 2013 Cannes’s Prize of the Ecumenical Jury for >The Past< and later the award for Best Screenplay at Cannes 2016. In 2017 Farhadi also received an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for the >The Salesman<. This year at the festival, Farhadi will be presenting his new film Everybody Knows< starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz, which opened the 2018 edition of Cannes festival.
