In 2012 Farhadi received Iran’s first Academy Awards for his critically acclaimed >A Separation<. This award is only one of many that the director has won for the films he has directed since Dancing in the Dust< (2003). Among other the 2013 Cannes’s Prize of the Ecumenical Jury for >The Past< and later the award for Best Screenplay at Cannes 2016. In 2017 Farhadi also received an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for the >The Salesman<. This year at the festival, Farhadi will be presenting his new film Everybody Knows< starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz, which opened the 2018 edition of Cannes festival.
