Sweden is lagging far behind in online safety for children, research and several reports show that we are facing an escalating public health crisis among children. There are millions of sites online with material that is harmful to children. It is common for children to be exposed to violence and pornography as early as primary school age, often by an older child. We work to raise awareness and to ensure that children get the protection, support and support they need.
We educate politicians and authorities and give them concrete proposals for action. In the past year, we have met with the Minister for Education, the Minister for Gender Equality, the Minister for Social Affairs, the Ombudsman for Children, the Public Health Agency of Sweden, the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority and the Swedish Schools Inspectorate.
We are one of Sweden’s most effective children’s rights organizations, with only 1-2 employees, we have, among other things:
- Popular education with a reach of over 52 million in traditional and social media
- Helped thousands of parents empower, support and protect their children with our simple tools
- Pushed through 2 government decisions to introduce age-appropriate school education with consent and porn criticism
- Increased use of digital child protection from 46% to 85% of Swedish schools today
- Collected 100,095 signatures which we handed over to the government in April
We are now inviting more companies to become Corporate Friends with us so that we can accelerate our work! Much work remains to be done, while children’s online lives are becoming increasingly risky, leading to widespread harm to children’s health at younger and younger ages.
A warm welcome to our breakfast at GT30 on Thursday April 24, 08.30-09.30
