Film screening with Doc Lounge, “Even When I Fall” – on the theme social work and trafficking
Sheetal and Saraswoti meet as teenagers in a refugee camp in Kathmandu. The camp takes care of the survivors sold to corrupt Indian circuses when they were children. Even When I Fall is being filmed over a period of six years, and shows how the women are fighting to get back into society without education, family or affinity. In the end, they bring out their secret weapon, their amazing skills as circus performers and along with 11 other survivors of human trafficking they start the Circus Kathmandu, Nepal’s first and only free circus group.
At the preview of this movie we will be serving the Nepalese national dish Dal Bhat with the set up “Pay-what-you-wish” and the money will be donated to the organization Realstars. Realstarts are working for a better world free from sex trafficking and will participate during the evening.
